Battery pack design
Novel integrates a number of technologies into its batteries, whether integrated single cell designs or multi-module packs. In developing a new pack design, considerations are made for the cell chemistry type, thermal management, "Smart" electronics for battery management and control, electrical use models and unique environmental conditions.
Pack designs incorporate either Novel or commercial grade cells depending upon customer requirements. Design, qualification and fabrication of each pack design is conducted in-house.
Every pack design begins with a careful understanding of the cell configuration being incorporated into the battery pack. The cell and module constructs are designed to meet the unique environmental requirements of the application into which the battery will be incorporated.
Novel incorporates a number of unique technologies to address thermal runaway concerns associated impact, crush, and overcharge events. Specialized packaging techniques pass even the severest test environments. cooling designs also allow for long term operation of the battery pack with nominal maintenance.
Novel's electronics package controls all critical battery functions including over discharge and overcharge protection, fuel gauge, cycle count, low and high temperature operation, charge and discharge rate control, short circuit protection, cell balancing and cell diagnostics.
Battery PCM design
Novel is able to help you design a cost effective, innovative power solution for your products. We can design the PCB protection circuit for single-cell and multi-cells Li-ion/Li-polymer packs. We can also design other application PCM protection circuit Module for your devices. Our professionally qualified engineers have wide experience in the field of PCM design. The technical team remains at the forefront of battery and charger component technologies allowing you to achieve an equitable balance of cost and performance for powering your device.

Prototyping and Manufacturing Equipment
Novel's batteries are selected from a number of leading rechargeable battery manufacturing plants in China. These factories are equipped with the most up-to-date production and testing equipments. Most of them have over 1000 well-trained production staff and 100,000 square foot manufacturing area, who are capable of producing over 200,000 various cells per day or over 5 million cells a month. These factories are the OEM source for many top brand batteries in the world.
For lithium will react with the atmosphere, most of the development, prototyping and production activity in the workshop is conducted in a dry clean-room environment. The Construction of Quallions 1000 sq. ft. dry/clean room was completed in 2007. The facility is prepared for low to mid-volume production capability. Currently, the production facility houses own an electrolyte distillation laboratory, a charge and discharge laboratory supported by over 5,000 channels for production formation, a glove-box lines for electrolyte-filling and laser-welding with the following equipments: laser ablation machine, electrolyte distillation and salt mixing equipment, vacuum mixer, intermittent & continuous coating machine, high temperature press machine, slitting machine, automated stack winding machine especially designed for thin film lithium winding, production Argon-Helium dry boxes with filling and laser machines, a 12-channel 60A/55V battery tester for up to 60Ah batteries, constant temperature and constant humidity box (Temperature: -50℃ to +175℃. Humidity: 10% to 95% RH), a 10-channel battery tester for up to 60Ah cells.
